Our life as individuals involves reflecting on our actions and existence. We want to understand what is good for us to do and how to live well. "Orientation towards the Good" seeks to clarify the structure of the considerations we engage in. This is done largely without normative prescriptions. The focus is not primarily on what we should do in our own interest or what is morally required, but rather on how we can gain those fundamental orientations that practically guide us. It is about reconstructing the foundations of our practical-evaluative relationship with the world and ourselves, and thus also the process through which we become the unique subjects that we are.
