Derin is a journalist. She is as Turkish as she is French and lives in Paris. Just as she is about to leave to write about a murdered colleague in Istanbul, she encounters an Armenian man right before her departure. His story captivates her but also raises questions. Upon arriving in Istanbul, she begins her investigation, and a search that is both unsettling and dramatic begins, the outcome of which leaves her completely shaken.
