An Easter celebration straight out of a storybook: the weather is splendid, and the whole family is gathered around the Easter Sunday lunch table. Suddenly, Aleit, blue-tinged and frothing at the mouth, collapses onto her stepfather's shoulder - an epileptic seizure. There’s no underlying illness, but there is a reason. The doctors shrug, but Aleit looks closer. What she sees is not conducive to recovery: her husband hides behind clouds of smoke, her sister behind her innocent facade; her mother buries herself in the early reading books from her children's East German school days, and her stepfather disappears with Aleit’s five-year-old daughter into his darkened room. Just then, another bolt of lightning strikes Aleit’s brain, and illuminated in this way, she sees the opportunity to finally confront her family's denial strategies...
