Tektura, Ombra, Corpus, and Femina. While these typefaces are known and widely used around the world, the man behind them, Othmar Motter (1927-2010), is only familiar to a few. Motter was a pioneer of graphic design from Vorarlberg, a passionate type designer, and co-founder of the Atelier Vorarlberger Graphik in Hard, which can be seen as a precursor to modern coworking spaces. His Motter Tektura significantly shaped the brand image of Apple and Reebok for a long time. He designed logos for Vorarlberg's industry that are still present in the urban landscape today. Important commissions during the post-war period primarily came from regional textile companies. The peak of his career as a type designer was marked by the publication of Motter Corpus by the International Typeface Corporation in New York. He was influenced by the teachings of Swiss typographer Adrian Frutiger, alongside those of Günter Gerhard Lange.
