The mainland is lost, conquered by the armies of the living dead, who now walk the earth and spread like a plague across the wasteland that was once our civilization. While the few survivors have retreated to smaller island groups, clinging to them like rats in a sea of terror, those ravenous shadows of humanity now represent the dominant species on the planet. Famine and disease are spreading in the refugee camps, threatening the survival of the few remaining people. The remnants of the government and armed forces are forced into an offensive to reclaim some ground from the infected hordes of the undead.
