Product details
The Vampire was first published in 1819 in London's New Monthly Magazine. This volume, a companion to Tales of Terror from Blackwood's Magazine in the World's Classics, selects thirteen additional stories of the macabre that were published between 1819 and 1838 in leading London and Dublin magazines. It includes Edward Bulwer's chilling account of the doppelgänger, Letitia Landon's elegant reinterpretation of the Gothic romance, William Carleton's terrifying description of an actual lynching, and James Hogg's eerie exploitation of the cholera epidemic of 1831-1832.
