The second part of the two-volume work "Kobudo" contains a description of the weapons Nunchaku and Tonfa. The final section of the book addresses the modern application of the Tonfa as a multipurpose baton for the police. Basic techniques, such as various methods to ready the Tonfa, blocks, strikes, blows, or locks, are explained in detail and illustrated with numerous drawings and photographs. Additionally, special techniques are presented that may be of utmost importance in practical use for police officers. These include protecting one's own Tonfa from unauthorized access or defending the service weapon. Of particular interest is the opportunity presented here to incorporate proven methods of classical Kobudo into the modern practice of armed law enforcement. In general, practical relevance and effectiveness were emphasized.
