Product details
The ATB is the most traditional series of editions in German medieval studies. Founded in 1881 by Hermann Paul, it has been overseen by leading experts such as Georg Baesecke, Hugo Kuhn, and Burghart Wachinger. Since 2001, the responsibility has been in the hands of Christian Kiening. The now approximately 120 volumes exemplarily combine manuscript fidelity and readability, scholarly work on the text, and a focus on academic teaching. They include recognized, partly annotated editions of classic authors from around 1200, as well as significant collected works like Notker the German and demanding new editions such as Eckenlied and Heinrich von dem Türlin.
