Austria's armed forces boast an impressive variety of armored vehicles. The first armored vehicles were produced between 1903 and 1905 at the Austro-Daimler factories. In the 1930s, the army equipped itself with various Italian tankettes. After World War II, modern armored units were formed, initially using American tanks and French AMX13, and later including the Jagdpanzer Kürassier.
