Brick 18
German, 2018Product details
Brick architecture is more vibrant and diverse today than ever before. For nine millennia, bricks have been used as a building material. The appreciation for their diverse applications, constructive qualities, and sustainability remains unbroken to this day. Since 2004, Wienerberger, the world's largest brick manufacturer, has been awarding the Brick Award every two years to recognize outstanding projects in the field of brick architecture. For the 2018 edition, over 600 projects from 44 countries were submitted. This book not only showcases the seven buildings awarded by an international jury in Argentina, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Vietnam, but also the total of 50 nominated projects. All are presented with concise texts, evocative images, and selected plans. Five thematic essays are included internationally.
