6a Architects was founded in 2001 in London by Tom Emerson and Stephanie Macdonald after they met at the Royal College of Art. They quickly made a name for themselves with eye-catching projects that have received numerous awards. Their latest works include the extension of the South London Gallery, the building for the contemporary gallery Raven Row, and the redesign of the fashion department at the Victoria & Albert Museum. The firm was nominated for the Schelling Architecture Prize in 2012. Unorthodox methods and a profound knowledge of history and theory are hallmarks of 6a Architects.
