This volume brings together Alain Badiou's writings on cinema, created over a span of fifty years, tracing both the development of Badiou's philosophical engagement and that of the most significant art form of the 20th century. Badiou's unique relationship with cinema is evident in this book through a variety of texts that portray him as a student, a political activist, later as a critic, and ultimately as a philosopher.
