This first volume contains, in addition to three extensive texts at the beginning, numerous smaller individual works that have not been included in the collected works until now. These works have been published at various times and occasions and have only been accessible in a scattered manner: lectures, prefaces, book reviews, and newspaper articles. They revolve around numerous topics that Jung engaged with scientifically. In addition to questions of psychiatric practice, they touch on issues of occultism and spiritualism. The preceding works provide the reader with access to the fundamental ideas of C. G. Jung's psychology. Above all, the five lectures held in London in 1935 under the name "Tavistock Lectures" on the "Foundations of Analytical Psychology" contain Jung's views on the human psyche and demonstrate the methods he used to explore it.
