Currently, patriotism stands at the center of reflections on the socio-moral foundations of our community in times of change, like hardly any other concept in the political culture of the Federal Republic of Germany. Volker Kronenberg conducts a comprehensive political science reconstruction of this key term within the network of relationships between nation, nationalism, constitution, and Europe, with a focus on contemporary relevance - not least to emphasize how necessary an enlightened, open-minded patriotism is for a European Germany at the beginning of the 21st century.
