Out of Mexico. The border to the USA is supposed to protect Paula, Dusty, and Billy from those who are chasing them, but on the freeway in Texas, their adventurous journey comes to a sudden halt. After a serious accident, twenty miles outside of San Antonio, they are left without their beloved hippie bus "Lipstick," without a cent to their name, and without a place to stay. Fortunately, there is the police officer Lalo Gutierrez, who takes them home with him. Fate binds the adventurers and their half-wolf to this city for weeks, holding them captive despite their friendship with Lalo and his family. The blues increasingly grips them until they can finally return to their dream of great freedom.
