They tell stories in which animals act like humans while still retaining parts of their animal nature. In a confined space, they depict life: colorful, powerful, almost novelistic. Alexander Gruber compiles the animal tales for the first time as an editor at Pendragon Verlag, presenting in Volume 1 the animal tales from the original version of the Brothers Grimm. Additionally, he allows for a comparison of the tales "Little Red Riding Hood" and "Puss in Boots" with the version by Charles Perrault. For better understanding, Alexander Gruber has translated the tales "The Hare and the Hedgehog" and "The Fisherman and His Wife," which were written in Low German, into High German.
