Information about the author: Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) was a university professor of political philosophy at the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research. She was a visiting professor at several universities, including California, Princeton, Columbia, and Chicago. Arendt served as research director of the Conference on Jewish Relations, editor-in-chief of Schocken Books, and executive director of Jewish Cultural Reconstruction in New York City. In 1952, she received a Guggenheim Fellowship and in 1954 an Arts and Letters Grant from the National Institute of Arts and Letters. She is also the author of "On Revolution" and "Eichmann in Jerusalem.".
