Product details

In 1973, the corpulent, dark-haired, bearded film director Miguel Littin fled from Chile after a U.S.-backed military coup overthrew the democratically elected socialist government of Salvador Allende and established the rule of General Augusto Pinochet. In 1985, Littin returned to Chile, now slim and clean-shaven, with a false name, a fake passport, and a false wife. He posed as a Uruguayan businessman and was determined to make a film that told the truth about life under Pinochet. This is the story of Littin's escapade, which was a journey into a risky and, in many ways, unexpected new land – and into his own complicated feelings as an exile.
