Frida’s Fiestas

In the tradition of the best-selling Monet’s Table, Frida’s Fiestas is a personal account in words and pictures of many important and happy events in the life of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, and a scrapbook, assembled by her stepdaughter, of recipes for more than 100 dishes that Frida served to family and friends with her characteristic enthusiasm for all the pleasures of life. About the authors

Guadalupe Rivera was the daughter of Diego Rivera and his second wife, Guadalupe Marín. Her mother often served as a model for portraits by Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.

Marie-Pierre Colle is the author or co-author of several books, including Frida’s Fiestas: Recipes and Reminiscences of Life with Frida Kahlo and Mexico: Houses of the Pacific. Of Mexican-French heritage, she began her career as a journalist in New York and has worked for such magazines as Vogue, House & Garden, and Condé Nast Traveler. She currently resides in Mexico.

Alfonso Alfaro is the director of the Institute of Investigation of Artes de México. A doctor of anthropology at the Sorbonne, he is the author or co-author of several books published in Mexico.
