Alan W. Watts, who held both a Master's degree in Theology and a Doctorate in Divinity, is primarily remembered as an interpreter of Zen Buddhism and, more broadly, Indian and Chinese philosophy. Regardless of sectarian affiliation, he earned a reputation as one of the most original and unconventional philosophers of the twentieth century. Watts was the author of around twenty books on the philosophy and psychology of religion, published in many languages worldwide, including the bestseller "The Way of Zen." He was a passionate lecturer.
