Author Information
James Rebanks is a shepherd who lives in the Lake District. His first book, "The Shepherd's Life," won the Lakeland Book of the Year 2015 and was nominated for both the Wainwright Prize and the Ondaatje Prize. Also known as the Herdwick shepherd, his Twitter account has a strong international following, showcasing daily life in the Lakes. His family has lived and farmed in the Lake District for six hundred years.

Blurb
The lives of some people are entirely their own creation. James Rebanks' is not. As the first son of a shepherd, who was himself the first son of a shepherd, he and his family have lived and worked in and around the Lake District for generations. Their way of life is dictated by the seasons and the tasks they require, and this has been the case for hundreds of years. A Viking would understand the work they do: driving the sheep to the mountains in summer.
