In recent years, there is now consensus in most studies that the value strategy, i.e., investing in undervalued stocks, can achieve higher returns than other investment strategies. However, there is still ongoing debate about the reasons for this strong performance. Despite the abundance of literature addressing the value strategy, there are relatively few studies specifically focused on the German stock market. Riegler-Rittner and Friesenegger investigate whether a quantitative value strategy can indeed achieve better performance in the German stock market compared to the DAX, and whether this can be done with the same or even lower risk.
