Training and reinforcing listening comprehension is an essential part of the curriculum. Although listening and hearing are one of the four core competencies in the subject of German, there has been little suitable teaching material available that practices precise listening. Ten audio stories on two CDs featuring the main characters Jasper and Jule – engagingly narrated and professionally presented – make listening enjoyable. The worksheets for the individual audio texts, each approximately ten minutes long, are designed in such a way that young listeners can engage with what they have heard in various ways. This encourages your students to listen carefully and attentively and to develop listening strategies through the nature of the tasks. Each story is also available in printed form and is supplemented with thinking or puzzle tasks.
