Martial arts are popular among many children and teenagers, not least due to the media: here, wrestling and roughhousing are allowed without any issues. So why not practice fair strength measurement in physical education as well? This volume offers cross-sport practice materials for grades 5 to 10 that focus on the natural urge to wrestle, the desire to compete, and the engagement with one’s own and others' physicality. The full-body training not only trains complex physical movement patterns but also strengthens students' self-awareness and self-esteem. Additionally, they learn to adhere to established rules and rituals and to internalize them. After a brief methodological and didactic introduction, the book provides a variety of exercise forms in the form of partner and duel exercises, team games, and group games.
