Instead of dry theory, art history is conveyed through practical experience. The starting point is always a short, clearly written text about the essential characteristics of art periods from the Stone Age to Classicism, which students creatively process in the practical part, either individually or in groups. By taking on design features or typical materials and structures in a hands-on way, they achieve a deeper understanding of painting, sculpture, and architecture from the beginnings of humanity to the 19th century. The accompanying CD contains colored sample works by the students and visual material related to the respective periods, as well as the worksheets with the design tasks.
