A persistent grief disorder can occur as a result of the loss of a significant person. It is characterized by intense longing for the deceased and separation pain, as well as cognitive, emotional, and behavioral symptoms, such as the inability to accept the loss, along with anger or bitterness about the loss. This volume provides a user-oriented description of the treatment for persistent grief disorder. In addition to an overview of the current state of research and diagnostics, the book includes two manuals - an inpatient group therapy program and an outpatient individual therapy manual. Both manuals have been successfully evaluated and have proven to be highly effective in treating persistent grief disorder.
