Who would you choose if there were federal elections next Sunday? In light of the declining connection between parties and voters, Anne Jessen examines the future of this so-called "Sunday question." The areas involved in the "production" of the survey results are considered: theory, practice, and public perception. Is the theory on which the Sunday question is based still relevant? Do the methods practiced meet scientific standards? How are the results published? In addressing these questions, the author develops her own approach: heuristic voting. By exploring which voter uses which heuristic for their voting decision at what time, the increasingly volatile decision-making moment of the voter is captured. Considering the surprising results, a quality can be discerned.
