In recent years, prosody has experienced a revival as a research subject in other scientific fields as well. This includes, among other areas, cognitive neuroscience. For several years now, brain research has had the capability to visualize neuronal processes involved in solving a given task using various non-invasive imaging techniques. However, little is known so far about the processing of spoken language, including prosody. The aim of this study was to develop a speech corpus that can be used to investigate the processing of spoken language. The methods employed included listener group surveys, auditory and acoustic analyses, as well as fMRI.
