Product details
The period of the investigation covers the 6th century BC in Egypt. The focus is on the domestic political conditions of the ruling kings of the 26th Dynasty at that time. By compiling the very disparate inscriptional material from this period, it was possible to establish a solid basis for the study of administrative structures. The evaluation of the presented evidence shows that the similarities that are immediately noticeable with earlier administrative structures are only superficial. Under the rule of the Saite kings, fundamental changes were made. The most significant result is the abolition of the office of the vizier in its original form. Furthermore, there is a noticeable increase in the influence of the military.
