This book was awarded the Prälat-Dr.-Franz-Müller Science Prize by the Catholic Social Institute of the Archdiocese of Cologne for social ethical research. The threat to the natural foundations of human life and the surrounding environment is undoubtedly one of the most pressing contemporary issues. What orientation potential can theology offer from its understanding of creation regarding this question? Which ethical approaches are suitable to compensate for the deficits of Western ethics that have become evident due to the ecological crisis? What measures are necessary and justifiable to adapt human economic activity at both regional and global levels to ecological realities? This work attempts to provide answers to these questions.
