Foundation governance concerns the organization and management of foundations. The central legal issue relates to the information and control deficits known from the for-profit sector. These deficits are exacerbated in foundations due to various factors specific to their legal form. The analysis of concrete design options to address this issue examines, from a formal perspective, ways to integrate governance regulations into the legal system. In this context, questions of binding nature and enforceability are a particular focus. On a material level, the areas of governance and organizational structure, administration and operational processes, as well as the information policy of foundations are at the center of attention.
