This work analyzes and assesses amnesty programs regarding their significance in combating economic crime. Companies confronted with compliance violations hope that the announcement of civil amnesties will lead to a high willingness to cooperate from employees who have violated laws and regulations, thereby aiming for a comprehensive process of clarification and self-cleaning. The work particularly addresses questions concerning the admissibility of self-incriminating statements in criminal proceedings, compliance with data protection regulations, as well as liability and criminal risks. Another focus is the discussion of the planning and implementation process, taking into account necessary restrictions, supplemented by practical recommendations for action.
