Product details

The right to an adequate standard of living is the most important, yet also one of the least researched and discussed rights of the Social Pact. The work develops its own definition for the term 'standard of living' and specifies it based on obligations of respect, protection, and fulfillment, as well as its core obligation. It critically examines the individual elements of the right, namely food, water, clothing, and housing, from a human rights perspective and provides fundamental insights into access to energy. At the end of the work, the question arises regarding the function of the right: Is it a distinct human right, merely a collective term for its elements, or a general clause that serves as a standard for interpreting the entire Social Pact?.
