The former SS special camp/concentration camp Hinzert in the Hunsrück is documented from a criminal law perspective. The basis consists of factual findings from eight criminal trials that took place after 1945 against perpetrators from this concentration camp. These findings provide judicial insights into the immense suffering of the inmates and the brutality of their tormentors. This highlights the legal dimension of the Hinzert complex, which has so far been only mentioned incidentally in the broader spectrum of investigative work.
