This study deals with the consistent and efficient design of a risk management system that is suitable for better understanding the impacts of uncertainty in business decision-making situations and for providing strategies for actively managing risk situations. In addition to a comprehensive discussion of the risk phenomenon and newer methods of risk measurement, the analysis of the multi-stage nature and interdependence of risk creation processes in industrial enterprises forms the core of the work. This culminates in the concept of a risk information and management system, which, as part of corporate planning, highlights not only the success-related but also the risk-related consequences of decisions. The management of risk acceptance in relation to risk capacity is an important application area to make companies more crisis-resistant.
