The violation of legal goods through the interruption of a saving causal process raises the question of the realization of an act or omission offense. Initial decisions regarding the development of a solution pattern occur within the framework of dogmatic preliminary considerations on the concept of rescue causality and the foundations of criminal liability, particularly concerning the normative character and questions of causality. The views represented on the topic are further examined comprehensively and critically based on the relevant case groups, especially the omission libera in causa and the so-called passive euthanasia. Ultimately, the legal figure of omission through action is a suitable and practical means for the uniform assessment of the relevant facts.
