Product details

The current economic literature focuses on how the market economy can be made more effective or social. Completely overlooked is how an economy could be organized that is not based on the market principles of market, price, and wage labor. The central chapter of the book attempts to answer the following question: What could an economy look like that operates without money and whose purpose is a needs-oriented provision? The needs-oriented provision economy (BVW) is presented and contrasted with the market economy, highlighting its impacts on prosperity, labor, health, and the environment. Possible counterarguments regarding this alternative economy and society are also discussed in detail. A separate chapter is dedicated to the question of how a transition from the market economy to a BVW could take place. Finally, other well-known alternative economic models and realized alternatives that had a similar starting point as the BVW are explained in more detail, and the differences to the BVW are highlighted.
