The book contains interviews conducted from both sociological and legal-historical perspectives with participants in a civil trial in the GDR, featuring voices of lawyers, judges, lay judges, legal advisors, and ultimately the plaintiffs. These interviews were created in the context of a comprehensive research project on the GDR civil trial that the author has conducted in recent years. However, the volume is not only part of this study but also provides access to the reality of civil law in the GDR beyond statistical abstraction. Brief introductions aim to facilitate entry into the subject matter. These are complemented by topic-related literature references that offer opportunities for further exploration.
