Product details
This book sheds light on the history of the conflict commissions in the GDR from their inception to their abolition. It compares the regulations of the conflict commissions and examines their relationship with trade unions and company leaders. The study is based on union resolutions, the FDGB press, legal journals from the GDR, and academic works on the conflict commissions. For the first time, the results of an investigation into the activities of the conflict commissions in two large Suhl combines, as well as two surveys regarding this activity from 1988 and the arbitration boards for labor law in 1990, are published.
The work honors the conflict commissions as a noteworthy episode in German legal tradition.
