Product details
This work deals with the temporal limits of long-term asset dispositions in German inheritance law. In German inheritance law, the testator has various options to influence the fate of their assets beyond their death. However, such dispositions are temporally restricted by § 2109 BGB (pre- and post-inheritance), § 2210 (execution of wills), §§ 2162, § 2163 BGB (bequests), and § 2044 Abs. 2 BGB (prohibition of division). These provisions, which can also be referred to as rules against perpetuities in reference to English law, are examined in the work regarding their scope of application as well as their substantive and temporal reach.
