With Georg Misch, this treatise attempts to restore the original richness of meaning to the word. Misch's conception of a logic of life understands the word as the powerful word. The question of life drives the inquiry of the treatise beyond Misch's anthropological conception to the phenomenological ontology of Martin Heidegger and Josef König's question of "Being and Thinking." Heidegger's question of Being requires a deeper exploration of its linguistic foundations. "Being" proves to be the originally true; in its verbal form, it is the demonstrative verb. This form is unique to the Indo-European languages. Thus, a foundation is established from which the question of tradition and higher-level constructs can be reconsidered.
