The design of international assignments for dual career couples (DCCs) is not considered a relevant topic in many German companies. This attitude is surprising, as both the number of international assignments and the number of DCCs have significantly increased in recent years, and the success of an international assignment also depends on the personal well-being of the accompanying partner. By implementing holistic concepts that take into account the careers of both DCC partners, companies can gain not only image benefits but also a competitive advantage in the labor market for highly qualified professionals. Furthermore, it can be assumed that involving the partner in the assignment support positively impacts the performance of the assignees.
