Starting from the thesis that democracy requires appropriate education, it is assumed that this is especially true for a democracy committed to inclusion. A historical analysis of exemplary ethics shows that people with disabilities have not been fully granted human rights in the past. Therefore, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is examined. Based on Disability Studies, it is elaborated which overlaps are already recognizable in democratic education and inclusive approaches to education, where there are still gaps from this perspective, and how these can be overcome. The existing school system seems to fall short of achieving inclusion.
