Product details

The examination of the era of National Socialism and Fascism continues to engage legal scholars. A previously overlooked area of research is the direct comparison of the legislative efforts of Germany and Italy. This comparison appears particularly worthwhile, as the Working Group for German-Italian Legal Relations was established in 1937, which included the mutual exchange of information regarding the status of legislative measures among its tasks. In light of the Italian Codice Civile enacted in 1942, the question arises as to what extent mutual influence occurred between the politically connected countries. The author has juxtaposed specific norms from both countries, focusing on family law and inheritance law. To explain these norms, legislative justifications and contemporary commentaries are utilized. The reception of these norms in each of the examined countries is particularly illustrated through statements in contemporary legal journals and by members of the Working Group.
