The demand for the introduction of a family voting right emerged in France in the mid-19th century. According to this proposal, the head of the family should have multiple votes, either representing the children or for the family as a whole. This work addresses not only the extensive literature but also all parliamentary initiatives between 1871 and 1938 aimed at introducing family voting rights, as well as the constitutional projects from Vichy that included a family voting right. In conclusion, the work provides a detailed overview of the current discussion regarding the introduction of family or children's voting rights in Germany.
