The Romanian basic vocabulary contains approximately 3,000 of the most important words used in contemporary urban colloquial language. The selection was made considering the frequency of their occurrence in both spoken and written use, taking into account the perspectives of both the speaker and the listener. This version of the Romanian basic vocabulary is primarily intended for German-speaking users without prior knowledge of Romanian. The additional English and French translations are not only for speakers of those languages but also serve as a resource for German speakers. The basic vocabulary also includes a systematic grammatical introduction. Additionally, it provides the rules of Romanian pronunciation as well as a German, English, and French glossary.
