Although essential for science and research, as well as for communication and mediation, language has hardly been addressed in the context of artistic therapies so far. The question of an appropriate language takes on particular significance in the documentation of artistic therapeutic practice, as the creative individual is at the center of attention. In their contributions, the authors of this volume approach the topic of language from an interdisciplinary perspective and from varying viewpoints. They examine differences and congruences between linguistic and visual media and explore the characteristics and design possibilities of linguistic representation within the context of art therapeutic practice and research.
