The work deals with sharia-compliant real estate financing. It is highlighted that Islamic law, as a religious internal law, cannot be chosen as applicable contract law. Therefore, sharia-compliant real estate financing is only possible if the financial products developed in Islamic banking can be implemented within German law. The financial products of Islamic banking are thus examined for their suitability for real estate financing, and comparable institutions under German law are sought. The corresponding possibilities for contractual design are presented. The work illustrates which regulations and requirements must be considered in practice to enable sharia-compliant real estate financing in Germany.
