In today's job market, high and highest quality, efficiency, and flexibility of employees are more in demand than ever. This also applies to translators and interpreters. Universities that train translators and interpreters have therefore made it their mission to meet these criteria, meaning they need to adapt their programs and teaching methods to new demands. However, to meet these requirements of the job market, regular collaboration between academia and practice is absolutely essential, a fact that has so far only been addressed sporadically and in a piecemeal manner. The CIUTI Forum has set itself the goal of creating a platform for constructive exchange of ideas between academia and practice. Participants examine the profile of the translator from both sides. New means and methods of methodological approaches in training are also presented to meet the new demands. On the other hand, the market introduces new, institutionalized bodies that are not afraid of a global, innovative approach towards collaboration with universities.
