The fact that the corporate group is the dominant organizational form is increasingly reflected in the literature on balance sheet analysis. This work contributes to the theoretical foundation and concrete design of this balance sheet analysis. It examines the decision-making and risk situations of equity and debt providers at the various levels of the corporate group and derives their information needs from this. The annual financial statement analysis within the group must be aligned with these often very different information requirements. Depending on the decision-making situation, different analysis objects must be considered: the individual financial statements of the legal entities, the consolidated financial statements of the economic entity, and/or a combined analysis of these statements.
